System NCTS DE

Customs Gateway for NCTS DE is an application that will allow you to remotely open a transit procedure in Germany, where:
  • the Office of Departure is a German office (e.g. Hamburg Sea Port or Frankfurt Airport)
  • the Office of Destination can be any office within the NCTS transit area including of course any Polish office
Communication with the German NCTS system (ATLAS) represents a natural extension of the functionality of the Customs Gateway. The user is able to select the NCTS DE as a target system. The operation of sending declarations (e.g. T1, T2, or TIR) and receiving response messages is almost the same as in Polish systems. The most important differences are:
  • different terminology and sequence of declaration statuses
  • use of a temporary reference number (Arbeitsnummer - Temporary MRN) in the German transit procedure
When lodging a declaration the ATLAS system assigns to it an ARN temporary number, which the carrier must know in order to present the respective goods and documents at the customs office. Customs Gateway enables its users to obtain this ID from the system and send it to the driver, for example by means of an SMS message. Authorisation by an official to start a transit procedure in the system generates the final MRN, which is used to identify a movement during the stages of goods transportation and transit closure. It is shown on the TAD document given to the driver at the office.
